Network Topology

 NETWORK TOPOLOGY:

Network topology tells us how the connection between different devices is established. The devices can be connected between them in many different ways In this post we will see the different types of network topologies. The most important types of network topologies are

  1. STAR TOPOLOGY
  2. MESH TOPOLOGY
  3. BUS TOPOLOGY
  4. RING TOPOLOGY
  5. TREE TOPOLOGY
  6. HYBRID TOPOLOGY
We will discuss about every topology in detail

STAR TOPOLOGY:

In star topology every device is connected to each other through a single central point as shown in the figure which looks in the star shape.


MESH TOPOLOGY:

In mesh topology every device is connected to each other individually as shown in figure
BUS TOPOLOGY:

In Bus topology every device is connected to a single line source as shown in the figure







RING TOPOLOGY:

In ring topology every device is connected to each other in a circular manner as shown in the figure


TREE TOPOLOGY:

In tree topology the devices are connected in such away where it looks like a tree with branches and leaves




HYBRID TOPOLOGY:

Hybrid topology is the combination of all the topologies.



Every topology has their own advantages and disadvantages.
